Frank Lampard’s Everton are now competing with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool for Barcelona midfielder Gavi, according to AS.
AS have reported that Everton, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are interested in signing Gavi from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
However, the La Liga giants do not want to sell the 17-year-old Spain international and are trying to tie him down to a new long-term contract.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Gerard Romero reported in March that Liverpool have offered Gavi a contract worth €6m-a-year (£5.13m-a-year).
Gavi blow for Liverpool and Everton?
In our opinion, both Liverpool and Everton will be disappointed in their pursuit of Gavi.

We do not think that Barcelona will let go of one of the best young talents in world football in the summer transfer window.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Everton striker Gary Lineker described Gavi as a “midfield maestro” on Twitter in October 2021.
Barcelona head coach Xavi will know how important it is to keep young players in the team, and we think that Gavi will eventually sign a new deal.
Talks over a new deal between Barcelona and Gavi have been positive, according to well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Gavi has made 25 starts and six substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona this season.
The 17-year-old midfielder has scored two goals and provided five assists in those games.
