Everton want Kamaldeen Sulemana and have launched a move for the Rennes winger ahead of transfer deadline day.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that Everton have given a verbal offer to Rennes as they seek a late deal.
It’s stated that Everton were left waiting for a response from Rennes on Sunday.
Rennes want around €30million (£26.5million) for Sulemana, which would take up a lot of Everton’s budget after selling Anthony Gordon.
Southampton have allegedly made an offer worth around €20million (£17.5million), but Rennes rejected that bid as they seek more cash.
Sulemana is understood to be interested in leaving Rennes given that he has barely featured for the Ligue 1 side this season.
The 20-year-old has started just two league games for Rennes this season and doesn’t want his career to stall.

The Ghanaian has enormous potential and showed promise last season with four goals and two assists in 20 games.
Sulemana had even earned comparisons to Sadio Mane, and Everton would no doubt love to find a talent like that.
Everton may prefer a loan-to-buy on Sulemana, just to see whether he can adjust to the Premier League.
Yet with Rennes seemingly only open to a cash deal, Everton may need to dig deep for the speedy winger in the next 24 hours or so.
