Everton want Kamaldeen Sulemana with the winger allegedly open to leaving French club Rennes during this month’s transfer window.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims that Everton are now exploring a loan deal for Sulemana.

Romano adds that Bournemouth and Bundesliga club Augsburg are also interested in signing Sulemana this month.

The Ghanaian winger appears to be open to leaving because of a lack of playing time this season.

Everton are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and may now push to bring Sulemana to Goodison Park.

Who is Everton target Kamaldeen Sulemana?

Sulemana was in the Right to Dream academy in Ghana before joining Nordsjaelland in Denmark thanks to a direct link between academy and club.

The 5ft 9in winger dazzled in Denmark, bagging 14 goals and eight assists in 43 games for Nordsjaelland.

After 18 months in Scandinavia, Sulemana was snapped up by Rennes and he seemed to be on a path to stardom.

Four goals and two assists in 20 Ligue 1 outings showed off Sulemana’s quality and potential, but this season has been much harder.

Sulemana has started just two Ligue 1 games this season whilst making 11 substitute appearances. His total tally for league minutes this season stands at 272.

The 20-year-old has seemingly had enough and wants a loan exit with Everton keen after Liverpool were once interested.

The Daily Mail reported in May 2021 that Liverpool had been scouting Sulemana ahead of a potential move to Anfield.

Sulemana had been earning comparisons to Sadio Mane, so it’s no surprise that Liverpool were interested.

No deal was done but Sulemana could still end up on Merseyside, just the blue side rather than the red.

The Daily Mail noted in July that Newcastle United were keen on Sulemana but were told to pay around £30million.

Everton will now hope for a much cheaper loan deal, though having the option to buy such a talented young player would be ideal.
