Everton are interested in a move for Roma boss Jose Mourinho if they choose to move on from under-fire boss Rafael Benitez any time soon.

Mourinho wanted by Everton?

The Mirror claim that Everton are looking towards Mourinho if Benitez loses his job.

Benitez was beaten 4-1 by Liverpool on Wednesday night, leaving Everton fans baying for blood.

Everton would allegedly want to explore Mourinho’s availability just months after joining Roma.

It’s claimed that Mourinho would be open to leaving Roma for the Premier League if an offer comes his way.

With results at Roma a little mixed to say the least, Mourinho could jump at the chance to manage Everton.

Mourinho isn’t what Toffees fans want or need

Farhad Moshiri is under just as much pressure as Benitez, if not more.

In more than five years at Everton, Moshiri has spent plenty of money without actually making any progress.

The likes of Ronald Koeman, Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti haven’t really brought the football Everton fans want to see.

Benitez is offering similar, but does Moshiri really think Mourinho would be any better?

Mourinho hasn’t moved with the times – just like Benitez and possibly Ancelotti too.

Mourinho’s abrasive nature remains a problem, and this would feel like another big-name move that doesn’t actually fit Everton’s needs.

If Moshiri is going to make a change, it can’t be another Benitez or Ancelotti. These big names with pragmatic styles just aren’t working and Everton need fresh energy if there is to be a change.
