Everton are on the hunt for a new striker in 2026, and an experienced option with Premier League pedigree might be up for grabs.

David Moyes will be happy with how things have gone this season, with Everton sitting comfortably in the top half of the table as Christmas approaches.

However, one ongoing problem has been their lack of goals. Thierno Barry has not found his feet yet since joining, and Beto’s numbers have not exactly caught anyone’s attention either.

Only Nottingham Forest and Wolves have scored fewer goals than Everton so far this season.

That means Everton are back in the market for a forward in 2026.

CaughtOffside reports that Everton are one of three Premier League sides keeping tabs on Nicolas Jackson.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United are also linked, while Atletico Madrid and Napoli have shown interest from abroad.

Jackson, who joined Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea for the 2025/26 season, has struggled to make an impact. The German club are now considered “highly unlikely” to activate their £57m purchase option.

Chelsea appear willing to let Jackson go, which could give Everton a chance to strike a deal for the forward at a reduced price.

Beto’s potential exit next month might open up both space and funds, giving Everton a clearer path towards landing Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson’s Premier League career

Jackson has netted five times in just 542 minutes during his loan spell at Bayern, a solid record even if it has not been enough to unseat Harry Kane from the starting line-up.

A move back to the Premier League now looks more likely, and Everton supporters may be encouraged by his previous form in English football.

Across 65 league matches for Chelsea, he registered 24 goals and provided 10 assists, offering a consistent threat up front.

Everton fans might recall Jackson scoring twice against their side during his time in England – once in a 6-0 defeat and again at Stamford Bridge last season.
