Everton are reportedly discussing moves for six players based in Milan.
Inter Milan’s Jeison Murillo celebrates after scoring against Frosinone
According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Everton have sent representatives to Milan today in order to discuss potential deals for six players.
The Toffees are poised to land Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, Ajax midfielder Davy Klaassen and Malaga forward Sandro Ramirez according to Sky Sports, but there could yet be more additions on the way.
Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic
Director of Football Steve Walsh will be working hard to bring in quality signings ahead of Everton’s return to the Europa League, and he has been part of a delegation in Italy today in order to discuss.
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Everton are talking to AC Milan and Inter Milan, and here are the six players that the Toffees are reportedly negotiating for…
Gianluca Lapadula
Jeison Murillo: Colombian centre back Murillo joined Inter from Granada in 2015, and whilst his first season with the club was impressive, he endured an up-and-down campaign last term. At 25, Murillo still has room to develop, and he could be an athletic option alongside Ashley Williams for Everton.
Ever Banega: Banega enjoyed the best spell of his career with Sevilla, but he was in and out of the Inter side last season. The Argentinian playmaker, 28, did still manage six goals and six assists, but Inter could cash in on him this summer in order to fund other moves. Banega would bring skill, flair and creativity to the Everton midfield, but he may only be a fall back if the Klaassen deal collapses.
Marcelo Brozovic: Brozovic was once touted as a hot property around Europe during his days with Dinamo Zagreb, but he hasn’t quite lived up to that billing in Italy. The 24-year-old, much like Banega, was in and out of the Inter side and ended the campaign with six goals and three assists to his name. Versatile as he can play out wide, as a central midfielder or in an attacking midfield role, Everton may see untapped potential in the Croatian international.
AC Milan’s Carlos Bacca
M’Baye Niang: French attacker Niang will be familiar to some Premier League fans having spent the second half of last season on loan at Watford, where he notched two goals and two assists. Now, the 22-year-old is back with AC Milan where he appears to have no future, and he could bring some pace and versatility to the Everton attack, given that he can play up front or out wide.
Gianluca Lapadula: 27-year-old forward Lapadula is an interesting name in the mix, given that he started just 12 games for Milan last season. Yet, with eight goals and three assists in 27 total appearances, the Italian attacker did contribute massively. Formerly of Pescara, where he hit 30 goals in 46 games, Lapadula may be an under-the-radar purchase for the Toffees.
Carlos Bacca: The main name mentioned is that of Bacca, the Colombian goal machine who has hit 34 goals in 78 games for Milan following a 2015 move from Sevilla, where he notched 49 goals in 108 games. A predator inside the box, the 30-year-old is a totally different kind of striker to Romelu Lukaku, but could replace his goal threat should the Belgian leave Everton this summer.
