Amokachi played for Everton for two years in the nineties.

Former Everton striker Daniel Amokachi told the club’s official website that he believes Oumar Niasse is a “warrior” and reckons the Senegalese’s hard work and determination is what has endeared him to the Goodison Park faithful.
The 27-year-old striker has reignited his Everton career this season, scoring seven goals in 15 Premier League outings for the Merseyside club and keeping January signing Cenk Tosun out of the side for the time being.
It is a far cry from the start of Niasse’s Everton spell, when he struggled to even earn first-team football following his £13.5million move from Lokomotiv Moscow and was eventually loaned out to Hull City.

Amokachi believes the Everton faithful have warmed to the striker, and the former Everton man also gave his verdict on manager Sam Allardyce stating that the former England manager has all the ingredients required to thrive.
On Niasse: “Whether he starts, or comes on for two minutes or five minutes, you know how he is – he is a warrior. When you play for a club like Everton, no matter how you are playing, you have to try to contribute and give 100 per cent whenever you get the call.
“I had a spell at Everton when it was not going so well, but you still try to die for the team. I think that is what the Evertonians appreciate most.”
On Allardyce: “I think Sam has brought in defensive organisation, which the team needed. “Do we have quality? Yes. Do we have talented young players? Yes. And do we have a manager with a winning mentality? Yes.“

Since Allardyce’s arrival, Everton have gone from relegation candidates to European football hopefuls as they now sit in ninth place and just two points behind seventh-placed Burnley.
Everton travel to Hertfordshire this weekend ahead of Saturday evening’s clash against Watford, which could see them climb the Premier League table into a much more comfortable seventh if they earn all three points against the Hornets.
