Everton have sanctioned a loan move for Mason Holgate to West Bromwich Albion.

Everton will be hoping that Mason Holgate’s loan at West Bromwich Albion works out much better than Brendan Galloway’s did.
Galloway was the last Everton player to make a temporary switch from Goodison Park to West Brom, but the move was a disaster.
At that time Galloway was considered one of Everton’s brightest prospects, much like Holgate currently is.
However, West Brom barely played him, and Galloway’s career has not recovered since.
The youngster was given just three appearances for West Brom, and the loan spell really seemed to set him back.

Galloway went on a temporary spell at Sunderland where he also struggled a year later, and the Everton man’s career at Goodison Park now looks to be over, as he can’t break out of their reserve team right now.
Everton will hope that Holgate’s career doesn’t take a similar path after a move to West Brom.
And the Baggies will need the move to be a success, otherwise doing business with Everton in the future could be tough.
