Everton stood firm over Ademola Lookman.

Ademola Lookman is battling his way into Everton’s first team and beginning to build on his potential.
Lookman has made six appearances off the bench, including five in the last consecutive matches.
He has flashed his ability with an assist against Palace and Everton’s decision to stand firm and keep him in the summer looks likely to pay off.
Lookman signed for Everton in early 2017 for £11 million from Charlton and made an immediate impact, scoring against Manchester City.
After that, he struggled a bit more and changes in management did not help his cause.

After a loan spell in Germany, Sky Sports reported in late August that Lookman was subject of a £25 million bid from RB Leipzig – plus add ons.
This would have allowed Everton to make a quick £14 million profit on a player who is not a regular starter.
There are tentative signs that Everton made the right decision.
It would have been easy for Everton to take the money, but it would have presented short term and long term problems.
Everton would not have been able to replace the attacker, with Leipzig’s final offer coming after the English transfer window had closed.
Looking further ahead, Lookman is just 21, and if Leipzig were willing to spend £25 million on him, that’s probably a sign Everton should be looking to keep him.
The England youth international is a top prospect and will have a part to play this season.
Beyond this year he has the potential to be a huge part of Everton’s future success.
