The Spaniard pulled off a great save to deny Rudy Gestede late on.

Everton picked up a hard-fought draw on Teeside yesterday, drawing 0-0 with Middlesbrough at Riverside.

The Toffees could not find the goal they needed to win the game and had to make do with a share of the spoils.

However, they could have easily lost the game. In the final stages of the game Boro got very close to scoring a winning goal. Rudy Gestede’s header looked like planting itself in the top corner of Everton’s goal. However, Joel Robles pulled off a magnificent save.

The Spaniard showed off his athleticism to make the stop and it was a save he liked to celebrate after the game.

He posted this tweet after the game, highlighting his heroics:

He was not alone in tweeting after the game. Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin was one who sent a message to his followers. He was not happy with the result, but insisted the players gave it their all in tough conditions:

Young forward Ademola Lookman, who has proved to be a big hit at Everton since his move from Charlton Athletic, also took to Twitter after the game:

Everton fans will be hoping for three points in their next outing, and for Robles to keep up his form.
