Richarlison has told Everton’s official website that he asked to come off in Marco Silva’s side’s last match against Chelsea.

Richarlison ran himself into the ground at Stamford Bridge, as he helped Everton pick up a 0-0 draw.

The Brazilian did not have much in the way of chances, but he still gave Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz a real challenge during the contest.

And Richarlison insists that his injury problem is nothing to worry about.

“There’s no reason to worry about the injury, it is just a small knock, nothing serious. I’d given everything out there [against Chelsea],” he said.

“It was a difficult match and an injury can happen at any time. So I asked the coach to be substituted, to bring on someone who was in better shape than me.

“We worked well as a team and got an important result.”
