The Toffees defender had a mixed debut season at Goodison Park but is now in the form of his life for the Blues.

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Yerry Mina’s comments to the official Toffees website about his impressive early-season form for the Goodison Park side.

The Toffees are yet to concede a goal in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign, having followed up their opening-day goalless draw at Crystal Palace with a 1-0 home win over Watford.

Mina put in great displays at the back in both games, following on from a mixed debut season in which injuries and perhaps having to acclimatise to a new style of football played their part.

One such example of a poor performance from Mina last term was in the third round of the FA Cup against Lincoln City, in which he was panned by some Everton fans – some examples below:

However, the Colombian is now finally showing what he’s capable of and, speaking ahead of the Friday night game away at Aston Villa, he gave his thoughts on the matter.

“I feel very good, the manager is working with me every day and giving me a lot of confidence,” Mina told evertonfc.com. “I am understanding more what he wants all the time and becoming more comfortable. This is my best football since I came to Everton but I have to keep my focus and always work to improve.”

The 24-year-old then hailed the Toffees support, adding: “They are always behind me and the team. It is incredible to play in front of these supporters and a brilliant feeling to play at Goodison Park. The fans have been very good to me since I came to Everton and their support gives me a lot of confidence.”

Here is what some Evertonians wrote in response on social media:
