The Belgian has been causing controversy at Everton in recent weeks.

Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has made the headlines again today. Last night he shushed senior player Ashley Williams in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United in an act of petulance that has not pleased many.

The Belgian striker is a lot of things. He is a tremendous goalscorer. His 28 goals for club and country prove that this season. He is a prodigious talent, at just 23-years-old. He is also a good character but this act goes some way toward painting the picture his detractors want fans to see.

Lukaku is a great player, but if Everton players had to choose between him and Duncan Ferguson in his pomp, the decision is likely to see the Scot get the shout.

Nowhere near as prolific or talented Ferguson played for the shirt and sometimes that is what Everton fans struggle to feel from their Belgian top-scorer.

The likelihood is that Lukaku’s time at Everton is coming to an end. But if he wants to win over the remainder of his Everton critics, just doing his talking on the pitch might be the best solution.

That’s what Big Dunc will certainly tell him to do.
