Everton will be without Kurt Zouma against Chelsea next month.

Everton’s three-game winning run in the Premier League came to an end on Sunday evening, as they lost 2-1 away at Manchester United.

The Toffees now face Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday, and boss Marco Silva may be considering some changes to his side for the visit of the Seagulls.

Ademola Lookman is certainly pushing for a start out wide, whilst Silva may need to think about a change in the heart of his defence, even though Michael Keane and Kurt Zouma have impressed lately.

The problem facing Everton is that, whilst Zouma is available this weekend, their next game after Brighton is a trip to face Chelsea, which means the Frenchman is ineligible given that he can’t play against his parent club.

That would leave Everton with options; put in Mason Holgate, who may not be quite good enough to cope with Eden Hazard and co, or stick in £27million signing Yerry Mina to partner Keane.

Colombian World Cup ace Mina has yet to make his debut having been suffering with injuries, and the 6ft 5in giant should be a superb addition to the Everton side – both defensively and with his threat from set pieces.

However, Everton fans are worried that throwing in Mina – who hasn’t played since July – for a debut at Chelsea would be a mistake, and now want him to start against Brighton in place of Zouma.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to warn Silva that playing Mina in a debut against Chelsea could be a disaster, and feel that it’s imperative that he plays against Brighton in order to get his match fitness and confidence up before facing such a stern test at Stamford Bridge.

It would be hard to drop Zouma against Brighton, but Everton supporters feel that Mina needs at least one game with Keane in order to be ready against Chelsea, and that should see former Barcelona man Mina come in on Saturday afternoon.
