Everton fans are keen to see William Carvalho signed from Sporting Lisbon this summer.

The Portuguese international has impressed at Sporting Lisbon over a number of years.

And Everton supporters have suggested that Silva would be making a good start to life with the Toffees, if he did bring the defensive midfielder in.

Everton are already fairly well stocked in central midfield already, but Carvalho could be an upgrade on their current options.

Silva is likely to want to improve the quality of his squad, as he looks to guide Everton into the Premier League’s top six.

Carvalho has been linked with a move to England for some time, so Everton may have to beat off significant competition, if they were to sign the midfielder.

If Everton do snap up Carvalho, he will be battling with the likes of Tom Davies, Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye for a first-team place.
