Marco Silva’s Everton side want Salomon Rondon and the striker impressed for Newcastle United against Liverpool.

Everton fans have been left very impressed by Salomon Rondon after his latest performance for Newcastle United.

Newcastle lost 3-2 to Liverpool yesterday, but they pushed Jurgen Klopp’s title chasing side all the way.

Rondon was a particular nuisance to Newcastle’s defence, with his strength proving problematic, and he impressed the onlooking Everton fans.

Marco Silva is thought to be on the hunt for a new striker at Everton, as they have lacked a goalscorer this season.

The Toffees have generally used Dominic Calvert-Lewin up front, but the youngster only has six goals to his name.

Rondon, on the other hand, is Newcastle’s top scorer – and he could offer Everton more of a clinical edge up top, with fans of Silva’s men keen to see him at Goodison Park next season.

Rondon’s future at Newcastle is far from certain, as he is only on loan from West Bromwich Albion, and there are doubts over whether he will sign permanently.

Newcastle are said to have to pay £16 million to sign Rondon on a permanent basis by the Northern Echo, but Everton may be able to hijack that move, if they do make a bid.
