A number of Everton fans are keen to see the Toffees go out and target Marco Silva after he was sacked by Watford.

Everton fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the prospect of the Toffees going after Marco Silva after the Portuguese was sacked by Premier League rivals Watford just a couple of months after he was linked with the Goodison Park post.

The Hornets surprised many by parting company with Silva – who they only appointed in the summer – with the club still in the top-half of the table, despite their recent poor run of form, which has seen them lose eight of their last 11 games in the Premier League.

BBC Sport reports that Watford have put some of the blame for their recent slump and Silva’s departure on the approach that Everton made for the former Hull City boss following Ronald Koeman’s sacking back in October. BBC Sport adds that the Toffees are yet to respond to Watford’s claims.

For many Everton fans, Silva’s sacking is the cue that the Toffees hierarchy should have been waiting for to make a change of their own at Goodison Park.

Sam Allardyce has never won his critics over since getting the job and the Toffees’ recent run of form is hardly better than the run that persuaded Watford to sack Silva.

Everton have lost four of their last seven and have not won since beating Swansea in mid-December, and many feel that now is the time to get rid of Big Sam and make a play for Silva – though not everyone agrees.
