Everton fans are desperate for a shake-up to their side after suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Southampton on Sunday afternoon as they prepare to face West Ham United – and fans want Muhamed Besic to start.

The 25-year-old failed to make a single appearance for the senior Everton side throughout the 2016-17 season as he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury at the start of the campaign.

Now fully fit, the Bosnia and Herzegovina hothead is not being afforded his fair share of game time, playing in just 46 minutes of Everton’s Premier League campaign so far.

Known for his dogged determination and tough-tackling style that has seen him pick up six career red cards at club level already, Besic is ready and available to take part in Wednesday night’s clash against the Hammers at Goodison Park.

Everton fans are desperate to see the former Ferencvaros midfielder to start his first game of the season for the Blues, but not in his normal position of central midfield.

Instead, most Toffees fans want Besic to be played in defence, with one fan stating that Besic’s “drive to win” would help him prevent the Hammers attackers from finding the back of the net.
