The Toffees Twitter account shared the emotional video of when the 22-year-old found out he would be in Brazil’s Copa America squad.

Everton forward Richarlison has been called up to the Brazil squad for this summer’s Copa America tournament on home soil.

The 22-year-old joined the Toffees from fellow Premier League club Watford in July 2018 for a transfer fee starting at £35million and potentially rising to £50million (BBC Sport).

Richarlison was reunited with ex-Hornets boss Marco Silva there was criticism within some quarters of the fee spent on the 22-year-old but an impressive 13 Premier League goals and two assists in 35 appearances (Transfermarkt) have silenced many doubters.

The attacker was named Young Player of the Season at The Dixies, Everton’s end-of-season awards, and he has now received another boost with the news of being called up by his nation for a major international tournament in his own country.

Everton posted an emotional video on their Twitter feed of Richarlison – originally by Brazilian outlet Gazeta Online – celebrating the moment he found out he was in the squad, along with his family:

Brazil face Bolivia on 14 June, Venezuela on 18 June and then Peru on 22 June in their final group game.
