The Premier League fixture reveal is on Thursday morning and the Toffees have only scheduled one friendly thus far.

Some Everton fans have taken to Twitter to criticise the club for having only announced one pre-season friendly so far this summer.

The Toffees have just one match scheduled – against Kenyan champions Kariobangi Sharks in Nairobi.

With less than 24 hours until the Premier League’s fixture list for 2019-20 is revealed, the Everton fanbase is still none the wiser as to where they might be able to watch their team warm up for the upcoming campaign besides the game in the Kenyan capital.

On Twitter, the Merseyside club posted a message asking supporters who they would like to see their team face in the opening match of the league, with the reveal set to take place at 9am on Thursday 13 June.

This backfired somewhat as some fans took the opportunity to lay into the club for not having scheduled a comprehensive pre-season despite already being two weeks into June:

Everton’s pre-season last summer also came under a bit of scrutiny as Marco Silva’s first match in charge of the Toffees, against ATV Irdning from the fifth tier of Austrian football, finished 22-0, with some outlets – such as the Daily Record – describing the game as “farcical”.
