The Toffees posted a video of the Everton ex-player’s superb solo goal against Chelsea at Goodison Park in 2011.

A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that Jermaine Beckford has announced his retirement at the age of 35 amid injury problems after the Premier League club posted a notice and video of one of his great Toffees goals on their feed.
Beckford joined the Toffees in May 2010 after leaving Leeds United and scored eight goals in the Premier League – including a superb solo effort against Chelsea in the last game of 2010-11 – and 10 in all competitions.
He was at Goodison Park for one season, subsequently joining then-Championship side Leicester City in the summer of 2011, and also played for Huddersfield Town, Bolton Wanderers, Preston North End and Bury.
Though Beckford’s stint at Everton was short, his wondergoal against the Stamford Bridge outfit was something special, and the Merseyside club paid tribute to the retiring player with a message on Twitter plus a clip of the goal.
Here is what some Toffees said on social media:
Beckford, who also scored the famous winner for Leeds United in the FA Cup third-round win over Manchester United in 2010, made just one appearance last season for Bury, who he joined on a two-year deal in May 2017.
