The Toffees ace told French newspaper L’Equipe that he hoped the Ligue 1 champions would come back for him.

Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye has spoken about his hopes of joining Paris Saint-Germain in the summer after his dream “sadly did not come true” in January.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the Toffees rejected offers of £21.5million and £26million from PSG for the Senegalese international in the final week of the winter transfer window.
Marco Silva had hoped Gueye would put the disappointment of missing out on a move behind him, but in comments published by French outlet L’Equipe, it seems like his mind remains on joining PSG.
Speaking of his failed move, the Senegal international said: “It is a dream that sadly did not come true. Every player works to join the best teams, to play in matches in the Champions League.
“But I was honoured that PSG were interested in me. Now, I know that I am of interest to these types of clubs, I am ready to go to the final level to join a top European club. I am going to work even more so that they come back to me. Maybe it is not finished with PSG.”
Gueye, who was signed by Ronald Koeman from Aston Villa for £7.1m in August 2016 (Liverpool Echo) and has made 97 appearances (Transfermarkt), also suggested the Ligue 1 champions made contact with him directly in January to try and make a breakthrough.

“PSG asked my leaders to find out how I could leave,” he added. “But Everton put the brakes on right away. They did not want to sell me. I pushed.” I saw the directors to tell them of my desire to go to Paris, it was a golden opportunity, a huge challenge not to miss at 29 years old.”
For a footballer to publicly make such overt comments regarding a move away from his current club, one would think there would be an inevitable fan backlash, but judging by comments on Twitter, some fans are okay with what he said:
However, some Everton fans did criticise Gueye for his comments:
