A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Andre Gomes’ social media post in which he praises the Toffees’ third kit, which was unveiled on Friday morning.
As per the accompaying article on the Everton website, the third strip is a dark navy colour and draws influence from the “football smart” trend, in which football shirts become part of fans’ casual and lifestyle wear.
The “sleek” shirt features a stylised V-shaped neckline and drop-hems with “dazzling blue” coloured stripes on the front neck, as well as highlighted on the crest and sponsor detailing.
Umbro has their trademark diamonds on strips running along each shoulder and the “EFC” logo placed below the back collar, inspired by the 1992-93 shirt and also found on the home and away shirts.
Gomes, who modelled the kit at venues in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle along with Yerry Mina, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Leighton Baines, tweeted the following message:

Everton are back in action on Friday night as they lock horns with newly promoted Aston Villa at Villa Park.
