Everton fans on Twitter appear to have got wind of The Sun’s report regarding Said Benrahma and started to draw their own conclusions.
The report states Crystal Palace are all set to sign the Brentford man in a £20 million deal after Aston Villa and West Ham pulled out of the race.
While that piece of news doesn’t directly concern the Toffees, supporters on Twitter think it means one thing – Wilfried Zaha is about to leave the south London club.
The Ivorian was the subject of a £70 million bid from Everton last summer, a deal that also included James McCarthy and Cenk Tosun. Palace rejected the deal.
A report in July suggested the Merseysiders were planning to go back in for the former Manchester United man, with Alex Iwobi potentially involved in a swap deal.
It remains to be seen if Carlo Ancelotti makes another concrete move for the attacker, although he is definitely a player Everton admire.
Should Roy Hodgson’s side add Benrahma to their ranks, they would have the Algerian alongside Zaha, Ebere Eze, Jordan Ayew, Michy Batshuayi and Andros Townsend.
Given that abundance of talent, you can see why Everton fans think the Ivory Coast international may be set for the exit door should the Brentford star arrive.
