Everton fans have suggested that Mikel Arteta would be a good appointment to replace Sam Allardyce.

Allardyce is rapidly losing support at Goodison Park, with the bulk of Everton’s supporters already thinking about replacements.

The Toffees have been linked with a range of targets, with the likes of Marco Silva and Paolo Fonseca both said to be on their wishlist.

However, Everton fans have suggested that Arteta could be a great appointment.

Arteta currently works with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, and has been learning off the Spanish boss for two years.

The former Everton midfielder is regarded as one of the brightest coaches in English football.

Arteta spent six years at Everton as a player, between 2005 and 2011, when he was regarded as one of the finest technicians in recent history.

Allardyce currently has Everton sitting in ninth place in the Premier League table, after they lost 1-0 to Watford at Vicarage Road in their most recent outing.
