It looks like Everton fans are running out of patience with Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Calvert-Lewin led the line for Everton in this afternoon’s 0-0 draw away to Crystal Palace.

But despite finding himself with a number of chances – some of them rather gilt-edged – the 22-year-old couldn’t finish his dinner.

The former Sheffield United ace has only managed six goals in 33 Premier League appearances this season and a lot of Toffees supporters believe that Calvert-Lewin – taken off on 73 minutes – isn’t the goalscorer they need going forward.

Considering that Richarlison isn’t a traditional number nine, and Cenk Tosun has struggled, Marco Silva really needs a proper centre-forward this summer.

Everton’s crushing 4-0 win over Manchester United last week illustrated just how good they can be. Silva’s side could be a serious problem if the Portuguese manager and Director of Football Marcel Brands recruited a top-class goalscorer.

On the evidence of this season and today especially, Calvert-Lewin isn’t the answer.
