Ademola Lookman left many Everton fans stunned on transfer deadline day by leaving Goodison Park on loan.

Everton fans have taken to Twitter to slam the Toffees’ willingness to allow Ademola Lookman to leave Goodison Park for a loan move to RB Leipzig on the final day of the January transfer window.

It has been a hugely frustrating season for Lookman so far, with the winger struggling for chances despite looking extremely bright in the months following his £11 million move from Charlton Athletic.

And when he has been given a chance this season, he has arguably provided glimpses of real quality, most notably scoring a brace in a Europa League group-stage win in December.

Nevertheless, he has made his final appearance of the season for the Toffees with the news emerging that he has moved to the Bundesliga side on loan for the rest of the campaign. And the news has gone down extremely poorly amongst the fans.

Sam Allardyce hinted to BBC Sport in the wake of their win over Leicester City on Wednesday that Lookman had various options heading into the final hours of the window, and insisted that the winger made the decision to move to Germany despite his reservations.

Nevertheless, the supporters have slammed the club for not keeping Lookman. While it was apparently the youngster’s choice of where he moved, it is no surprise that he felt that a temporary exit made a lot of sense given how little he has played this season. And it appears that many of the Everton fans have a lot of sympathy with Lookman.
