Davy Klaassen may have struggled to make an impact at Goodison Park so far this season, but Everton fans seem to have faith in him.

Everton fans have sent supportive messages to Klaassen following his post on social networking site Twitter.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder joined the Toffees from Ajax in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £23.6 million.

The Netherlands international, signed by then Everton manager Ronald Koeman in the summer, has made only three starts in the Premier League so far this season.

Everton fans, though, seem supportive of Klaassen, who is talented and will come good eventually.

Meanwhile, former Arsenal and Celtic forward Charlie Nicholas has admitted his surprised at Everton’s decision to appeal against the ban imposed on Oumar Niasse.

Niasse has become the first Premier League player to be retrospectively banned for simulation following the game against Crystal Palace.

The Toffees appealed against the two-game ban, but as reported by Sky Sports, it has been rejected.

Nicholas has also predicted Everton to win against Atalanta at Goodison Park in the Europa League this evening.

Oumar Niasse of Everton scores his sides first goal during the Premier League match between Everton and Watford at Goodison Park on November 5, 2017 in Liverpool, England.

“There will be no Oumar Niasse as he’s not even registered for the competition meaning he will miss three games following his ban for simulation,” Nicholas wrote on Skysports.com. “I thought it was a justified decision and I don’t know why Everton even appealed it.

“When the rules were brought in I thought a strong stance needed to be used to make an example of it, and it wasn’t even a good dive in terms of simulation.

“I’m going for them to get a result here though and I’m going to be bold and back Gylfi Sigurdsson to fire them to victory.”

A footnote added: “Charlie predicts: 2-1 and Sigurdsson to score first.”
