Everton drew 0-0 with Sion in a pre-season friendly on Sunday.

Everton’s pre-season preparations continued on Sunday afternoon, as they played out a 0-0 draw with Sion in Switzerland.
The Toffees had drawn 1-1 with Kariobangi Sharks last weekend, and fans won’t have been overly enthused by the stalemate with Sion either.
Marco Silva named a strange team, which featured Joe Williams on the right side of midfield, and most bizarrely of all, winger Kevin Mirallas at right back.
The Belgian is back at Everton after a season-long loan spell with Fiorentina, though many are expecting him to move on for good before the end of the transfer window.
On Sunday though, the 31-year-old started the game as a right back, which just served to highlight how Everton need to make a signing in that area of the pitch.
Marcel Brands allowed Jonjoe Kenny to go out on loan to Schalke for the season, but that has left Everton without any recognised cover for Seamus Coleman at right back.

Mirallas isn’t a short-term solution, or any kind of solution, and it’s imperative that Everton now go out and find themselves another right back to stop this kind of experiment ever happening again.
At least Everton fans found the funny side of things, taking to Twitter to share their laughter at the decision, wondering just how on earth Mirallas has ended up playing a game at right back.
