Everton were embarrassed once again on Wednesday night as they were beaten 4-1 by rivals Liverpool, but Salomon Rondon actually impressed many.

The Toffees are in dismal form right now and rivals Liverpool took full advantage.

Jordan Henderson and Mohamed Salah had Liverpool 2-0 up before Demarai Gray gave Everton a glimmer of hope.

It was indeed just a glimmer as Salah made it 3-1 before a lovely Diogo Jota strike sealed the 4-1 win.

That’s now eight games without a win for Everton and just two points picked up in that time.

Rafael Benitez is under huge pressure at Goodison Park with Everton looking completely disjointed.

Benitez is also persevering with Rondon to lead his attack whilst Dominic Calvert-Lewin is out of action.

Everton fans react to Rondon display against Liverpool

Rondon has yet to score for Everton and has been turning in some disappointing performances.

On Wednesday though, Rondon was committed and a real nuisance to the Liverpool back line, even if he still didn’t look like scoring.

Everton fans have been praising Rondon, suggesting that he was a handful against the Liverpool backline.

Others felt that Everton fell apart when Rondon went off in the second half, with their performance going ‘downhill’ without him.

Some can’t believe they’re praising Rondon, but believe he finally showed his quality.
