Everton fans have not responded entirely positively to Wayne Rooney’s latest tweet, after he joined up with the England squad again.
Rooney had retired from international football, but now will be given a send off in Gareth Southgate’s side’s friendly against USA.
Rooney’s first post on social media since he returned to the international break featured a picture with former Everton man Ross Barkley.
And some Toffees fans have criticised Rooney and Barkley after the tweet.
Rooney left Goodison Park just six months after Barkley decided he wanted out of Everton too.
Rooney’s departure from Everton was far less controversial, as there was a feeling around the Toffees that his best years were behind him.
England’s top scorer of all time has impressed in America with DC United in MLS though.
Barkley has also started to impress at Chelsea recently, after initially struggling following his departure from Everton.
