Everton defender Phil Jagielka has joined Sheffield United, after 12 years at Goodison Park.

Everton fans appear to be coming to terms with the fact that Phil Jagielka has actually left them to join Sheffield United.
Everton did not extend Jagielka’s contract at the end of the season, with the centre-back eventually opting to head back to Bramall Lane, where he started his career.
Jagielka’s departure from Everton has been a very emotional one, as he spent 12 years at Goodison Park.
And the 36-year-old’s decision to change his profile picture on Twitter to one of him in a Sheffield United shirt has caused many upset among many Everton fans.
In truth Jagielka was unlikely to play much for Everton next term, if he had stuck around.
Marco Silva has been focused on making Everton’s squad younger, and they are on the hunt for another centre-back.
Jagielka could perform a key role for Sheffield United though, as Chris Wilder’s side have just earned promotion back to the Premier League.
The Blades will need Jagielka’s experience as they look to avoid the drop in their first season back in the top flight.
