It isn’t going well for Everton at the moment, but it is for one of their loanees.

Henry Onyekuru, who joined Everton for £7 million in the summer of 2017 [BBC Sport], scored a hat-trick for loan side Galatasaray in Saturday’s 6-0 win over Ankaragucu.

The 21-year-old is yet to kick a ball for the Toffees after failing to obtain a work permit to play in the Premier League as of yet.

Hypothetically, Onyekuru, who now has five goals in his last two games, would be an asset for the Goodison Park outfit if he was on Merseyside.

Everton boss Marco Silva needs an out-and-out striker, after Oumar Niasse’s move to Cardiff this week left Cenk Tosun as the Portuguese manager’s only natural number nine.

Onyekuru reacted to his hat-trick on Twitter last night, and here is how fans of the Toffees responded:

Silva’s side lost 2-1 at Southampton on Saturday to ensure that Everton have only won two Premier League games in nearly two months.

Someone like Onyekuru is quite badly needed and with Niasse gone, hopefully for their sake Director of Football Marcel Brands can draft somebody in.
