Everton fans have admitted that they are gutted, after David Henen sent his farewell message on Twitter.

Henen was once considered to be one of Everton’s best prospects, but he never really made it into their first-team.

Despite a number of managerial changes, Henen did not quite do enough to impress any of the bosses to earn a start in the senior squad.

The attacker is now set for release at the end of the season, and he tweeted out a goodbye message on social media yesterday.

Henen was responded to by a number of Everton fans who are disappointed that he never got his chance.

Henen’s only experience of playing men’s football so far has come on a loan spell with Fleetwood back in 2016.

The winger is now 22, and seemingly needs to play regularly if he is to fulfil his potential.

Henen could be one of a number of players to leave Everton this summer, with Sam Allardyce confirming he is looking to cut the numbers in the Toffees’ squad.
