Former Everton speed machine Gerard Deulofeu has completed a permanent move to Premier League rivals Watford from Barcelona for a fee of £11.5m (Telegraph) – and Toffees fans have replied to the Spaniard’s Tweet.

The 24-year-old left Goodison Park last summer to rejoin Barcelona, but he lasted just half a season before returning to the Premier League on loan with Watford.

Now, Javi Gracia’s side have completed a permanent move to sign the four-time Spain international, who has penned a five-year deal at Vicarage Road to join the club until the summer of 2023.

The fleet-footed trickster posted on Twitter after completing a move, stating that he is looking forward to playing for Watford again after a “small taste” of what he believes he can achieve in Hertfordshire.

Following a loan spell during the 2013-14 season on Merseyside, Deulofeu joined permanently in the summer of 2015 and clocked up 75 league and cup appearances for Everton – scoring eight and laying on 19 assists.

But he was loaned to AC Milan before Barcelona completed the signing of the wing wizard to the dismay of some Toffees fans, and some have wished him luck in the replies to his post.

However, may fans regret the club’s decision to sell Deulofeu, with one supporter replying: “Sad it’s not a blue shirt”.
