Everton fans are excited about the potential of playmaker Anthony Gordon.
Everton have a number of hot prospects in their ranks right now, and Anthony Gordon is really turning heads this season.
Gordon, 18, has been coming through the Toffees ranks, and his potential even attracted interest from Borussia Dortmund last year, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The teenager attacking midfielder has even been used in attack by David Unsworth this season, and he’s responded well, smashing six goals in six games for Everton’s Under-23’s.
That’s red-hot form for the youngster, who doesn’t even turn 19 until February, so there are high hopes for him moving forward.
Gordon has been off on international duty over the last week, as he has been in the England Under-19 squad, taking on Belgium on Saturday afternoon.
Ex-Liverpool talent Bobby Duncan scored a brace in a 4-2 win, with Chelsea’s Henry Lawrence also getting on the scoresheet, with Gordon taking to Twitter to comment on his own display.
Gordon was pleased to pick up a couple of assists in that convincing England win, and his tweet unsurprisingly prompted responses from Everton fans.
Some believe that it’s time that Gordon was given a first-team chance, pointing to other clubs who have given youth a chance, such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
Others want Gordon in the squad to face West Ham this coming weekend, believing the time is right to get him involved in the Premier League – but whether Marco Silva agrees or not remains to be seen.
