Everton are gearing up for the return of the Premier League, and they took part in a warm-up game at Goodison Park on Saturday morning.
This coming Sunday, Everton will host Liverpool as the Premier League resumes. Having not played for three months, Everton need to get up to speed again.
Rather than take on a local Football League side, Everton decided to play an intra-squad game featuring a whole number of players including forgotten striker Oumar Niasse.
One clip emerged of Niasse sauntering around despite his team being on the attack, but fans instead focused on Alex Iwobi’s play in the clip.
The Nigerian winger was signed by Everton back in August, but has only managed two goals and one assist with the Toffees. Iwobi has been used out wide in Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2, but fans are hoping for something different.
They saw Iwobi pick up the ball and play neat interchanges around the box, showing off his speed and drive as he made his way into the box.

Everton fans took to Twitter to suggest that Iwobi must now play as a number 10, because would ‘offer loads more than Gylfi Sigurdsson’.
Some are praying that Ancelotti makes the change and plays Iwobi centrally rather than out wide, believing he ‘looks good’ ahead of the restart.
