Pascal Gross opened the scoring from a free kick, but an Adam Webster own goal and Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s strike put Everton 2-1 up.
Everton managed to capitulate though, as Neal Maupay bagged from the spot before Lucas Digne scored an injury-time own goal to hand Brighton all three points.
Everton sit just two points clear of the relegation zone, and with six defeats in their last eight league games, boss Silva is under huge pressure.
He decided to stick with winger Theo Walcott after his decent performance against West Ham, but he didn’t get a repeat display out of the 29-year-old.
Everton haven’t really got their money’s worth from Walcott’s £100,000-a-week contract, and Saturday’s performance was another example of how he flatters to deceive.
Some fans slated Walcott for reverting back to his usual level of performance, criticising him for never even looking like scoring despite getting himself into good positions.
Others feel it’s time to say goodbye to Walcott after less than two years with the club, even joking that his first touch is worse than that of ex-Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.
