The Everton midfielder is still being strongly linked with a departure from Goodison Park.

One player who was always likely to be the focus of much attention during this month’s transfer window is Everton’s Ross Barkley.
The midfielder is into the final six months of his current contract at Goodison Park and has yet to commit his future to the club, with manager Sam Allardyce stating that he is expecting big clubs to show interest in Barkley during this transfer window, as reported by Sky Sports.

Barkley is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, as reported by The London Evening Standard, and it appears rather likely that the 24-year-old’s long association with Everton could come to an end.
So far this season Barkley hasn’t featured at all for Everton due to injury but he is closing in on a return to full fitness.

Many Everton supporters, however, are frustrated at the prospect of Barkley leaving, with many stating that if he does depart then they won’t give the England international a good reception when he plays against them.
It will be intriguing to see what happens with Barkley in this transfer window, but it seems safe to say that his relationship with many Everton supporters will be tarnished if he does depart.
Here’s how Everton fans reacted to the latest news on Barkley’s future
