Everton fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Seamus Coleman against Southampton.

Coleman featured for Everton in their Premier League game against Southampton away from home at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The 30-year-old right-back started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as the Toffees lost 2-1.

According to WhoScored, the Republic of Ireland international defender had a pass accuracy of 81.4%, won two headers, and made one interception and two clearances.

Coleman did not play well against the Saints and failed to go on attacking forays, as the defender was pinned back by Nathan Redmond.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at St. Mary’s Stadium on Saturday afternoon, visitors Everton had 61% of the possession, took seven shots of which two were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

The result means that Marco Silva’s side are now 11th in the Premier League table with 30 points from 23 matches.

Everton fans were not impressed with the performance of Coleman and have criticised him on Twitter.
