Everton’s transfer business in recent years has been something of a mixed bag, and a couple of sales may leave a sour taste.
Steve Walsh’s work has taken some unpicking for Marcel Brands, but he still chose to sell a couple of players with real potential.
One of them was Ademola Lookman, who has impressed on loan at Fulham this season, and the other was Nikola Vlasic.
The Croatian talent was snapped up from Hajduk Split back in 2017, having impressed in Europa League qualifiers against the Toffees.
Vlasic only made 19 appearances for Everton before heading on loan to CSKA Moscow, where he headed permanently in the summer of 2019.
He has been superb since heading to Russia, racking up 32 goals and 20 assists in 96 games for the Russian side.

This week, Vlasic spoke to The Athletic about his exit, and his comments have sparked a reaction from fans on Twitter.
Fans suggested that Vlasic would have been much better than the likes of Alex Iwobi and Bernard, and should have been kept rather than signing those two.
Some even want Vlasic back, believing that he is a ‘baller’ and could still provide so much to the Everton side under Carlo Ancelotti.
