Everton brought in two midfielders over the summer in Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure, but are now being linked with another move.
Carlo Ancelotti admires Tottenham duo Harry Winks and Dele Alli according to The Mirror, and wants to add one of them in January.
He could bring one of them in on loan to bolster his midfield options, given that neither player is featuring regularly for Tottenham this season.
Jose Mourinho doesn’t appear all that keen on Winks or Alli, and with both players still harbouring hopes of playing at the European Championships this summer, they may be open to loan moves.
Using Alli as a number 10 makes some sense, but Winks is a stranger rumour. He is primarily a sitting midfielder, which tends to be Allan’s role.
Winks works hard and keeps possession ticking over, but won’t necessarily provide real creativity to the Everton side, or a goal threat like Alli would.

Everton fans have been taking to Twitter, suggesting that Winks would allow Allan to go forward more, feeling he is ‘exactly’ what Everton need.
Others called him ‘perfect’ for Everton and whilst being a ‘good quality young player’, as he is an upgrade on Tom Davies.
Some aren’t sure that Winks is an upgrade on Andre Gomes, but the general consensus is that Winks would be a fine addition for Ancelotti’s side.
