Everton boss Marco Silva is said to be considering making a move for Maxime Gonalons.
Everton fans are not keen on links with Maxime Gonalons, which have emerged in L’Equipe.
The French newspaper claims that Gonalons is wanted by Everton on a loan deal from his current club, Roma.
The 30-year-old has struggled since moving to Rome in 2017, and Everton are believed to feel he could make a good addition to Marco Silva’s side.
Everton fans, though, are hoping that the transfer rumours aren’t correct as they don’t believe the midfielder would improve them.
Everton have generally been on the look out for younger players, so it would be a surprise to see Gonalons arrive.
It does appear that Everton have their sights set on signing a midfielder this summer, but Andre Gomes seems to be their top choice.
Everton finished in eighth place in the Premier League table over the past campaign, and have ambitions to kick on next term.
