Everton posted a video out yesterday where Holgate confirmed that he had returned for pre-season with Marco Silva’s side.
The Toffees loaned out Holgate to West Bromwich Albion for the second half of last term, but there is a feeling that he could make an impact at Goodison Park in the upcoming campaign.
And Everton fans are delighted to have the 22-year-old back with them.
Holgate could provide an option for Everton at right-back or at centre-back over the coming campaign.
With Everton still not securing Kurt Zouma on a permanent deal there could be a gap in Silva’s defence for Holgate to try and stake a claim for over pre-season.
The England youth international was very impressive at West Brom last campaign, but it seems highly unlikely that Everton will let him go again this summer.
