The Daily Mirror claim that Holgate will be sent out on a temporary basis by the Toffees.
The centre-back has struggled for game time this season, with Silva often favouring other options.
And Everton supporters feel that a loan move could be just what Holgate needs for his development.
Despite Holgate’s lack of action this season, he remains highly rated at Goodison Park.
The England youth international has shown plenty of promise when he has been given opportunities, but Everton’s defence looks very strong now.
Holgate has Yerry Mina, Kurt Zouma and Michael Keane ahead of him in the pecking order for places.
If Holgate is offered out on loan then there is sure to be plenty of interest in his services.
