A number of Everton fans have praised the performance from West Ham United forward Marko Arnautovic.
A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to praise Marko Arnautovic after the West Ham forward’s performance during the Hammers’ somewhat surprise win at Goodison Park on Sunday.
The Irons went into the game looking for their first point of the season after a difficult start, while Everton could have potentially taken themselves into the top six with an emphatic win.
But it quickly became apparent that it was going to be West Ham’s day, as Andriy Yarmolenko broke the deadlock after an unselfish pass from Arnautovic. The Ukrainian doubled the visitors’ lead soon after before Gylfi Sigurdsson ensured that the Toffees went into the break with some momentum.
But it was Arnautovic who bagged the next goal as he got away from Mason Holgate to slide the ball home to make sure that the points would be going to Manuel Pellegrini’s men.
In truth, all of the Hammers’ front three were sensational in the win. But the Austrian’s talisman-like performance was particularly impressive, and it was one that prompted several Everton supporters to praise the forward.
The Sun reported in the summer that Marco Silva was considering a move for the £50 million-rated striker. And while meeting that asking price was always incredibly unlikely, it does appear that Everton’s side would be in a slightly better position if they had added Arnautovic to their ranks given his weekend performance as well as their current striker options.
