Everton haven’t been in particularly great form lately, and ex-boss Sam Allardyce has really stoked a fire in recent days.

The Toffees struggled over Christmas, suffering defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City at home, whilst their away trips saw them beat Burnley but lose to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Fans have been a little disgruntled as a result. It’s now just one win in eight games, and just five points taken from a possible 24 after previously losing just one in seven.

This recent downturn in form has led to comments about Marco Silva’s future as Everton boss, as whilst he was only appointed over the summer, some have noted that Ronald Koeman and Sam Allardyce didn’t really do much worse.

Well, of course Allardyce has had something to say about it. Last week, he told talkSPORT that it’s difficult to survive at Everton if you push attractive football but don’t get results.

Silva has now hit back at his predecessor, telling The Telegraph that he isn’t really interested in what Allardyce has to say about him, and would only listen if it was David Moyes making those remarks, as he actually fared well for a long time as Everton boss.

Now, Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react to Silva’s comments, praising him for a great response and joking that he should be given an eight-year contract just for hitting back at Allardyce, adding that Silva is like anybody in that they’re not interested in what Allardyce says.
