Things went from bad to worse for Everton on Saturday.
Quite a few Everton fans on Twitter are ripping into Marco Silva for some post-match comments.
The Toffees lost 1-0 at Silva’s former club Watford on Saturday for a third successive Premier League defeat.
Andre Gray scored the only goal of the game on 65 minutes during an afternoon which Everton tried but failed to create much of anything in the final third.
Silva, whose side fashioned four shots on target [BBC Sport], told The Echo afterwards that his troops ‘created enough chances to achieve a different result’.
And some fans of the Merseyside club aren’t buying it at all.
These are worrying times for Everton, who sit ninth in the Premier League table.
There is increasing concern that the Portuguese isn’t the right man to turn things around on Merseyside. Three defeats on the spin – one of which came against Manchester City in midweek – tells a grim story at the moment.
In fact, they have lost five of their last six games across all competitions. It was a big opportunity today to send a message, but he and Everton blew it.
