Everton boss Marco Silva did not put Tom Davies in his squad against Lincoln City in midweek.

Everton fans have been left baffled by Marco Silva’s comments on Tom Davies in the Liverpool Echo.
Davies was widely expected to be handed a chance to start for Everton against Lincoln City in midweek, but he wasn’t given any game time.
After the game Silva came out and stated that Davies was left out of Everton’s team for tactical reasons rather than injury.
He said: “It was a tactical decision, but it was not just him.
“Coleman was not in the squad list, Bernard was not in the squad list. Maybe one or two more.”
And Everton fans have been left confused by Silva seemingly freezing Davies out.
Silva has always previously spoken highly about Davies’s ability, but he seems to have doubts over starting him currently.
Davies has worn the captain’s armband for Everton under Silva before, but it is hard to see how he breaks into the Toffees’ side now.
If Davies is simply kept in reserve this term, Everton may wish they had sent him out on loan over the summer to get him more regular game time.
Everton are next in action against Wolverhampton Wanderers at the weekend, but there are question marks over whether Davies will even make Silva’s side’s match day squad.
