Everton fans do not appear keen on the rumours linking them with Manchester United defenders Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo.

Everton have been linked with both the central defenders, as Marco Silva aims to improve his side’s backline.

The Daily Mail claim Smalling is on Everton’s wishlist, while the Metro say that Rojo is on their radar.

But the potential double deal with United is not exciting Everton supporters who have been commented on social media website Twitter.

Everton already have Kurt Zouma, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Phil Jagileka competing for places at centre-back, but Silva reportedly wants more additions.

The Toffees have made a good start to the campaign, but they have big ambitions for the years ahead, and are determined to push on from their current mid-table spot.

Everton are expected to invest in January, with a defender and a striker likely to be high up on Silva’s wishlist.
